The Baby Room Mural Project

Devon spent time painting this mural in Elliott's room.  The music score comes from part of the hymn Be Though My Vision.  The notes match what's in the hymnal for the part of the song that's written.  Everything was painted by hand except the lettering, because seriously.. who want's to paint letters?!

The lines were done using tape for nice clean edges and the treble clef was sketched and then painted.  A little wonky, but it works.  A stencil was made for the notes, so they each had the same shape and size.

Pencil was used to transfer the rough shape onto the wall before painting.

The circles for each note were painted first, before tape was used for the tails.

Tape was used for the tails, so the lines would be nice and crisp.

The owl was first traced, then cut-out as a stencil and pencil-traced onto the wall before being painted.

Shapes were first placed on the wall to see where they would fit well.  It was hard to estimate what it would look like this way, so later I used a black cut-out of each shape before painting.

The finished mural!  Stickers were used for the lettering.
