Snowy Day!

A snowy few days have left us with a fresh blanket covering our yard.  With Elliott getting bigger, he's finally comfortable in his snow suit and has also learned to enjoy sitting in his sleigh.

Elliott gets lessons on his first ever snow angel!

Mom's turn for a snow angel.

What sound does an owl make?

Elliott can mimic some animal sounds now and it's totally adorable.  Naturally, we had to teach him what sound an owl made FIRST.  ...now he also can roar like a lion.

Though... it doesn't always work!

Elliott's Basket and Breakfast!

Just some cute pictures... because reasons.

Oatmeal:  A mess.

Perfect time to push your bowl around and blow raspberries!

Elliott is 11 Months Old!

11 Month Old Elliott can:

-WALK on his own!  ....only it's pretty rare at the moment, and he doesn't do it for very long.

-Elliott knows what sound an owl makes, and will lean forward and go "Hoo.. hoo" when we ask him.  ...only problem is that he does it for everything now.  Garth, Dad, Mom... everything is "hoo hoo"

-Elliott can stack the rings on his ring toy, and is learning to put smaller cups inside larger ones.

-Elliott can finally turn himself over and sit on his butt by himself.  He'll regularly plop himself down and sit, while playing with a toy.

-Elliott is very good at mimicking sounds that we make.  He occasionally will "roar" "hoo" or make fart noises.  ...so far so good.

-Elliott knows where his nose is, and can point out his toes occasionally.

-Elliott has started biting... but thankfully has stopped for now.

We tried to get photos, or a video of Elliott walking, but no such luck yet!  Hopefully soon.

Elliott started "hoo"ing during this picture.  His face gets serious, he leans forward and goes, "hoo hoo"  It's adorable.

He threw the dog to the ground and thought it was funny.

Elliott was playing the piano a bit... but then went down so he could crawl over to us.

That cute bear butt! XD

So this was our attempt to get him to walk.  He walked toward me, but only made about 1 step, haha.

Crawling on Tanks!

Our good friend Brad gave us a tour of his AFV hangar at CFB Gagetown.  It was awesome to crawl around the different armoured vehicles and see what they looked like inside.  It was really interesting to see how the different controls work and see just how limited the field of view is in those things.  Mind you, you're not too concerned when you're the heaviest thing on the road!

Brad called a friend of his, who is a tank driver, and asked him if he could give us a tour of his hangar.  It was really fascinating to get inside a Leopard II tank and get a thorough explanation of how each crew position operated.  The seats were actually rather comfortable, but I can't imagine being in there for a full day.

Elliott's First Steps

You probably read the title and were like, "whut?" cause there's no evidence of him walking yet!  Well too bad.  He did, but he rarely does it at the moment, and when he does, it's usually without warning.  On Jan 17th he took his first steps... walking a few feet between the two of us.  Then, he refused to stand up for us.  Now he's walking around a bit more every day.  As soon as we're able to post a video of it, we will.

He's a lot more relaxed when using his walker, and often uses just one hand, barely holding onto it.

Last week, Elliott was sick!  Just look at that snot.

We went on a sleigh ride with some of Chris' fellow international students.  It was bloody cold, but the horses were having a good workout.
